Brief Outline: This is a simple alphabet order game where students must say what is before/after the letter you say.

 

Materials Needed:

 

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Print out and blow up the alphabet handout. Affix it to the chalkboard and practice saying the alphabet. You can also practice by singing the alphabet song.
  2. Teach the phrases, "What's after/before ___?".
  3. Make teams and start the game. Simply ask various questions like, "What's after B?"  The first team to say "C" receives a point.

 

Variations:

  • For higher level classes, after a few rounds take the alphabet poster off the chalkboard.
