Brief Outline: Review the order of the alphabet with a simple but challenging activity.

 

Materials Needed:

  • Pencil and paper (one for each student).

 

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Give each student a piece of blank paper and have them write the alphabet at random, covering the entire page.
  2. Tell the students they have to connect the alphabet. They cannot lift the pencil off the page, nor cross any line they have already written.

 

Variations:

  • To add difficulty, have students write the letters and exchange papers.

 

Teaching Suggestions:

  • Show a demonstration so that students don't try to write all the letters linearly. Letters should be distributed randomly throughout the entire page.
  • Have the alphabet in order on display.
