Do Freeze

Outline:  Students walk around and suddenly 'freeze' when the music stops.
 
Materials Needed:
  • Appropiate music - I suggest the Chicken Dance

 

Procedure:
  1. Once you have taught the action words, have the students stand up, call out an action and they must repeat it after you.
  2. Start the music and the students must do the action until the music stops.
  3. As soon as the music stops, the students must 'freeze'.  The clincher to this game is the funny expressions and poses they make when the freeze.
  4. Once the students get the hang of the game, try getting in a frozen student's face and see if they move.  If they move, they are out.  I have found the students think this is really funny.

 

Variations:
  • 'Out' students become your helpers and try to get other students to 'unfreeze' in future rounds without touching them.

概要: 音楽が流れている時に生徒達は歩き回り、突然音楽が止まったら、生徒達もそのまま動きを止めてじっとします。
 
必要な教材:
  • 適当な音楽 ―― 「Chicken Dance」はお薦めです。

 

手順:

  1. 動作の言葉を生徒達に教えてから生徒に立ってもらう。ＡＬＴが動作の言葉を言った時に、生徒達がその動作をするように練習する。
    2. 音楽をスタートして、生徒達は音楽が止まるまで最初に言った言葉の動作をし続ける。
    3. 音楽が止まったら、生徒はそのときの動きを固定して止まる。このゲームの面白さは生徒達が突然止まった時のおかしい表情やポーズにある。
    4. 生徒達にこのゲームの突然止まるというやり方が分かったら、じっと動かないでいる生徒の顔を間近に見て、動くかどうか試してみよう。もし生徒が動いたら負けということになる。 私の経験からすると、生徒達は結構これが面白いと思うようだ。

変形:

  • 負けた生徒はＡＬＴの助手になって、音楽が止まった時に生徒達に触らずに止まっている生徒が動かないでいられるか試してみます。
