Food Wheel

Outline:  Students make a food wheel to help them become familiar with the word shape for foods.
 
Materials Needed:
  • FoodWheel worksheet - one for each student or group
  • Scissors
  • Food wheel - To make the wheel, you need something to join the layers together.  You could possibly attach each side of the wheel to cardboard.  Also, punch a hole in the center of the wheel and stick a spin clip through it.

 

Procedure:
  1. Hand out the food wheel sheet. It is a good idea to have a backing on the base sheet to make it a solid base.
  2. Have students copy the words from the board onto the specified places on the wheel (opposite their pictures). Cut out the wheels. Also cut out the triangular pieces from the top ‘The Food Wheel’ layer.
  3. Place the top paper (‘The Food Wheel’) over the bottom layer. Attach with a wire or some kind of clip which allows the wheel to spin.
  4. Allow the students some time to familiarize themselves with the wheel. Maybe call out a food and see if they can find it on their wheel.
  5. Hand out the worksheets. Have students go through the sheet together, trying to match up the words on their wheels to that on their sheets.

 

Teaching Suggestions:
  • Revise the names of a range of foods.

 

Variations:

  • Change the objects on the wheel to suit any vocabulary.

 

Cautions:

  • This is for a grade5/6 level for good for Special Needs classes at Junior High level. It is aimed at allowing students to become familiar with the shapes of words they already know the names of well.

概要: 食べ物の英語形によく分かるために「食べ物輪」という物を作ります。
 
必要な教材:
  • ワークシートはさみクリップ
  • ワイヤなどカード物のカード
手順:
  1. 「食べ物輪」のワークシートを配ります。Aの紙の裏でカードが着けてください。
  2. .絵の反対ところで生徒たちが黒板から食べ物の名前が輪で書きます。次、Bの紙では三角が切ってください。
  3. Bの上でAを付けます。クリップかワイヤを使って、輪が自転できるためにAとBは一緒に着けてください。
  4. 少し間に生徒が自分で輪に使います。後で先生が単語を言って、生徒が見つけてします。
  5. そして、書きワークシートを配ります。一緒に読んだり書いたりして、輪のこととワークシートのことを見つけられています。

推薦を教えること:

  • いろいろな食べ物の名前を得習しなさい

変形:
  • 輪で食べ物じゃないことに変われます。
注意すること:
  • 小学校の5年生か6年生を使うし、中学校の特別のクラスにも使えます。
