Spin the Bottle

Outline:  Students spin a bottle to review words or grammar.
 
Materials Needed:
  • A PET bottle per group
  • A set of cards (optional)
  • A stopwatch

 

Procedure:
  1. Divide the students into groups of 5. Give each group a bottle and set of cards.
  2. To decide who goes first, the bottle is spun. Whoever the bottle lands on is the first.
  3. The first student picks up a card and must say it in English. They then spin the bottle to choose the next player.
  4. The game continues until students are warmed up.
  5. Introduce a stopwatch. Tell students they have 2 mins and they must try and get through as many cards as possible. Stop the watch after 2 mins and tally the scores.
  6. Repeat until the cards are finished, or students are bored.

 

Teaching Suggestions:
  • Review grammar or words first that you are going to use in the game.

 

Variations:

  • You could revise grammar. For example 'Do you like _____?' or 'How do you say ______ in English?'. First round could use the cards. Later rounds students have to think of their own things.

必要な教材:
  • グルプの数によってペットボトル小さい物のカードのセットストップウオッチ 。
手順:
  1. 生徒が５人でグルプに分けます。グルプではペットボトル一本とカードのセットをあげて下さい。
  2. 誰でも、ボトルを回します。センの前になった生徒が最初でやります。
  3. 最初の生徒はカードに一枚を取って、英語で言わなければなりません。そしてこの生徒は次のやる生徒を決めるために、ボトルを回します。
  4. その感じが分かったら、ストップウオッチを使ってはじめます。これから二分ぐらいにはグルプでカードを何枚読める見たそうです。
  5. 二分になるとグルプのポイントが黒板に書きます。さてもう一回にやります。
  6. カードがないかつまらなくなるとゲームを止めます。

推薦を教えること:

  • ゲームの前で単語と文法などを勉強します。

変形:
  • 単語だけじゃなくて、文法も使うがいいと思います。例えば'Do you like _____?' や 'How do you say ______ in English?'です。最初の回りにカードを使えるがその後で生徒が自分のことを考えられます。
