The Robot

Outline: The students give a robot commands and you (the robot) act them out. A lot of fun!

Materials Needed:

A soft toy for the remote control, like a soft dice or ball. This ensures the student holding the remote control is the only student who can control the robot. This helps other students from shouting out commands.

Procedure:

After teaching a bunch of movement actions - left, right, jump, sit down, open the window, touch your nose - tell the students you are a robot and the soft dice is a remote control. Give it to a kid and allow them to shout a command. To enhance the effect, I make a robot sound and move accordingly.
After he says his command he then gives the remote to someone else.
After a few turns, ask a student to be the robot. Its very simple, The kids loved this game.

Teaching Suggestions:

This activity works great with the lower grades.
Keep in mind the grade you are teaching and adjust the words/commands accordingly.
This activity works in well after using the Genki English's Left & Right song.

Variations:

You can split up bigger classes and have blindfold the 'robot' and have them try to accomplish various tasks, like moving around obstacles in order to pick up a box and bring it back to their group's 'task done' area.

The Robot

リモートコントロール用の柔らかいおもちゃ、柔らかいサイコロやボールなど。これはリモートコントロール装置を持っている生徒だけがロボットをコントロールできることを確認するためです。これにより他の生徒が大声で命令を叫ぶのを防ぐことができます。

手順:
