Brief Outline: Students ask a series of, "Do you like ~ ?" questions in hopes to discover their partner’s character card.

 

Materials Needed:

 

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Each student is given a handout, which has nine characters on it. The student secretly chooses a character. The identity of  the character is kept secret from the other students. Explain this BEFORE you give out the handout.
  2. Students make pairs and play Janken. The winner asks questions, "Do you like ~ ?"
  3. Their partner answers, "Yes, I do. No, I don`t," based upon if there is a picture of the 'liked-thing' in the box their partner secretly selected.
  4. When the student thinks they know their partner's character they ask, "Are you ~ ?" To stop the students from randomly guessing, allow only one guess per turn and/or a certain number of guesses per game. If they go over that number, they automatically lose.
  5. If they guess correctly, their partner writes the winner's name next to the character on their own handout. Choose a different character and play again.

 

Variations:

  • Instead of the students receiving a worksheet with nine characters on it, have a stack of character cards on the teacher's desk with a huge poster with an entire listing of all the possible characters within the stack. When a student's character card is guessed, they come and choose another card from the top of the stack.

  4. 生徒は相手の登場人物が予想できたら、「Are you…?」と聞く。当てずっぽうにならないように、１回に１つの質問を、決められた回数しか出来ないようにする。決められた回数以上の質問をしたら、自動的に負けるようにする。
  5. 推測した登場人物が正しかったら、相手は登場人物を当てた人の名前を登場人物カードの横に書き、別の登場人物を選ぶ。
  6. 推測が間違っていたら、ゲームを続ける。

バリエーション：

  • ９人の登場人物が描かれたワークシートを受け取る代わりに、先生の机の上に登場人物カードを山積みにして置いて、全部の登場人物が描いてある大きいポスターを壁に貼ります。登場人物が推測されたら、山積みのカードの上からもう１つをもらいに来る方法もあります。
