Brief Outline: This is a fast-paced game where the students listen, write and then erase.

Materials Needed:

• Blackboard and c
  halk
• Blackboard erasers: You’ll need enough erasers for the amount of teams you have.

Detailed Explanation:

1. Review the alphabet via sounds: apple, banana, cat, dog, etc.
2. Divide students into groups. Anywhere from 2-6 groups should work.
3. Line the teams up on the opposite side of the classroom from the blackboard.
4. One student from each group is holding a piece of chalk. The ALT calls out a sound and the first student to run to the chalkboard and write the letter receives a point for their team. Continue until the students start losing interest or you called all the letters.
5. Erase any mistakes from the board, and keep letters that are written correctly.
6. Get the students to tally up the points. When one team thinks they are the winner tell them that the game isn't over. Hand out the blackboard erasers in place of the chalk; one student from each group receives an eraser.
7. Start calling out sounds that are written on the board.  Instead of writing, now the students must find and erase the sound. The first student to do so receives a point for their team. Continue until all letters are erased.

Variations:

• Advance classes could do consonant blends.
• In the erasing section of the game, allow students to erase other teams' letters.

3. 黒板の向かい側に、チームごとに並んでもらう。

4. 各チームの一番前の生徒がチョークを持つ。ALTの先生から英語の音を聞いて、黒板でその音の文字を書く。正解が一番早かった生徒のチームに１点が入る。そして各チームの次の生徒に交代する。生徒の興味がなくなるまで、もしくは文字がなくなるまで続く。

5. その後、間違った答えがあれば消し、正しく書いた文字はそのまま残す。

6. 各チームの得点を足す。ここで勝敗が決まったと思わせておいて、まだゲームは続く。今度はチョークの代わりに黒板ふきを渡す。また各チームの一番前の生徒が黒板ふきを持つ。

7. 後半、黒板で書いている文字の音をALTの先生が言う。今度は生徒は書くのではなくて、同じチームが書いたところから、言われた文字を探して消す。正解の一番早い生徒のチームに１点が入る。全部の文字を消すまで続く。

バリエーション：

• 上級のクラスの場合、２文字子音も使う。
•  後半消す時に、他のチームの文字を消すことも有り。
