Brief Outline: This game is for differentiating between sounds. It is useful to concentrate on the consonant sounds that are difficult for Japanese people to hear and say: R/L, B/V, M/N, J/Z, F/H, etc.
Materials Needed (not included):
Detailed Explanation:
- Have the students move their desks to the side and gather in the middle of the room.
- Write two letters on opposite sides of the chalkboard, for example R and L.
- Say a word beginning with one of the two letters. After the word is said, the students must go to the corresponding side of the room. After a three second countdown, charge down the center of the room to clearly divide the students. Then, say the correct answer.
- Rinse and repeat.
