Brief Outline
A small group of students has to guess how the class is feeling from their gestures.
Detailed Explanation
- The JTE leaves the classroom and the ALT shows students a flashcard/gesture of an emotion.
- The JTE comes back in and has the following conversation:
- JTE: "How are you?"
- Students: *gesture* (the emotion from step 1).
- JTE: "You`re _____."
- Students: "I`m _____."
- Replace the JTE with a small group of students and repeat from step 1.
- After a few successful turns, give the students two emotions to gesture at the same time.
Variations
- In small classes, use individuals instead of small groups.
Tips/Cautions
- Make it clear that students shouldn`t stand up when gesturing.
