Brief Outline: Students try to answer flashcard vocabulary first in hopes to go around the bases and score a point for their team.

Materials Needed:

  • Flashcards (not included)

Detailed Explanation:

  1. After separating the class into two teams, one team starts off as the batting team, the other as the pitching team.
  2. Four students from the pitching team come up and stand in the shape of a baseball diamond, each one acts as a base.
  3. One student from the batting team comes to the 'homeplate'. The 'base' students and the 'batting' student face off to be the first to raise their hands and say the word on the flashcard. If the batting student is correct, s/he proceeds to the next base. If one of the 'base' students are quicker to answer, the 'batter' is out!
  4. After three outs, switch up the teams.
