Brief Outline: One student has to guess who's conversing with the ALT.

Detailed Explanation:

1. Ask for a volunteer to come to the front and tell them to face the board. They can listen but they can't look: "Ears, yes. Eyes, no."
2. Choose one more student in the class and engage in a simple conversation with him/her. Try and select one who's good at English and who has a nice loud voice for the first round. The conversation could go something like this:
• "Good morning."
• "Good morning."
• "How are you?"
• "I'm hungry. How are you?"
• "I'm sleepy."
3. Tap the volunteer staring at the chalkboard on the shoulder and ask, "Who's talking?" They turn around and try to guess who it was who was talking.
4. If the student can't guess who it was, that person is the winner and can go to the front to have a go at guessing. If they guess correctly, choose a different student to be the guesser.

Variations:

• For older students, get 2 students to do the conversation with each other.

Teaching Suggestions:

• This game can be used to practice any topic which involves conversation. Tell the students you're going to play "Who's talking Game" and they'll instantly laugh and think you said "Stalking!" It's a good way to catch their attention. They look confused and say "stalking game?"
• This game is a good way to practice conversation without it becoming repetitive.

Tips/Cautions:

• Make sure the students speak loudly enough. This is best done by picking a loud student to go first because they tend to follow the example.
