Brief Outline: A listening and reading game where students pick out words from a dialogue by counting.

Materials Needed:

  • Textbook or any English passage

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Ask students to count to find words in the dialogue, such as "What is the 3rd word?" or "What is the 7th word?" Have them tell you the answer.
  2. When they fully understand it, try more difficult questions, like "What is the 2nd word on the 3rd line?"

Variations:

  • In the same manner you can ask "What day is the 16th day of this month?" "It's Monday."

Teaching Suggestions:

  • You can use any page they have studied.
