Brief Outline: Students compete in a directions guessing game to see which team can amass the most points.

 

Materials Needed:

 

Detailed Explanation:

  1. After having the students go through the word list and fill in the missing words, role-play an example dialog with the JTE.
  2. Have the class repeat the example.
  3. Read out instructions and script for ‘Fill-in-the-Blanks’ & 'Where Am I Going' tasks.
  4. Have students separate into two groups and work on writing their own ‘Where Am I Going’ task.
  5. Each group must read their directions to the other group one at a time.
  6. If the other group can correctly guess the destination, they receive a point.
  7. The team with the most points at the end is the winner. Reward accordingly.

 

Variations:

  • Can be adapted to higher or lower level classes.
