Brief Outline: This brief phonics activity focuses on the 'th' pronunciation.

Materials Needed:

  • Chopsticks: You need to have at least one pack of chopsticks.
  • One large 'th' flashcard.

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Play some music and pass around a TH card and have the class keep repeating, "th th th".
  2. Then, stop the music. The student that is holding the card embarassinly goes to the front of the class and demonstrates the 'th' sound. You pull out his/her tongue using a clean pair chopsticks and have them say the th-sound 5 times. They return to their seat with the chopsticks in case they come to the front of the class again.
  3. Start the music and repeat.
