Brief Outline: Students ask each other "Are you...?" questions and collect signatures.

Materials Needed:

Detailed Explanation:

  1. After giving each student a copy of the handout, have them practice the pronunciation of the words.
  2. Students janken and the winner asks the loser any of the "are you ~~?" questions. If the loser replies "yes", they sign the winner's paper.
  3. Change partners, and repeat.
  4. The student to collect nine signatures first is the winner.

Teaching Suggestions:

  • To get the boys and girls mingling, impose the rule that they have to get the signatures of four boys/girls and one teacher.
