Brief Outline: The race to complete their worksheets in pairs or groups.

Materials Needed:

  • AnimeDays character cards & worksheet - print out the character cards in colour, if possible. Cut the pages in half, and display around the classroom.  As for the worksheet, each student needs one.

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Attach the character cards to the walls around the classroom.
  2. Divide the students into pairs or small groups, and give them each a worksheet.
  3. One student from each group goes to a character card, reads and memorises it, and reports back to their group.
  4. The other student will then write on the worksheet what the first student reports.
  5. Have students swap roles.
  6. The first team to collect all the information is the winner.

Variations:

  • To extend the lesson, once all the information is collected, have a "Who am I?" quiz.

Teaching Suggestions:

  • This activity is based on the "In Your Words" section from Total English 1, Chapter 3, but can be used with any textbook really.
