Brief Outline: Students listen to hints and decide the correct country.

Materials Needed:

  • CountryNames worksheet
  • Pictures of country flags (optional) (not included)

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Hand out a worksheet to each student.  The worksheet has ten countries and three hints for each country.
  2. Choose a random number and say the hints.  The students must find the correct number and write the country's name.

Variations:

  • This game could be modified to be used grade 2&3

Teaching Suggestions:

  • I undestand some of the questions are not 100% grammatically correct but they were made that way on purpose so all students could understand.
  • It’s a guessing game designed for grade one JHS students.  It has very basic English so it should be understood by all students.
