Brief Outline: Students practice asking each other questions using the question word 'does'.

 

Materials Needed:

  • DoesInformationGap worksheet - there are four different versions so make sure you distribute them out evenly.

 

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Give out a copy of the worksheet to each student, making sure the four versions are distributed evenly.
  2. Check students are okay with the vocabulary and practice a few sample questions.
  3. Students janken and the winner can ask the loser about any of the characters. If the losing student doesn't yet have the information, they reply "I don't know."
  4. Repeat with other students.
  5. The winner is the student who collects all the information first, or who has the most information in the time given.

 

Teaching Suggestions:

  • If you have problems getting boy/girl students to mix, give them an incentive. Have them keep a record of how many male/female students they jankened with. This adds a level of competitiveness.
