Brief Outline: Talking about household chores. Comparing Japan with different cultures.

 

Materials Needed:

 

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Worksheet 1: Students match the picture of the chore with the sentence. Ask the students if they are ready to live in a different country.
  2. Worksheet 2:
    • Part 1: The ALT reads out each sentence and the students decide whether the sentence is true or false. Tell the students the correct answer and the students check if they are correct
    • Part 2: The students read each sentence and answer tuthfully what chores they have to do in the house. Again this can be done together or silently.
  3. Worksheet 3: Using their answers to the previous worksheets the students write three sentences about what they have to do in the house and three sentences about what they don't have to do.

 

Variations:

  • Instead of answering on their own, the students could do a partner interview.
