Brief Outline: Similar to the game
Bull$hit, students use a deck of cards to ask each other how many of a certain card they have.
Materials Needed:
- Decks of cards - one deck for every group
Detailed Explanation:
- After having the class form groups, give a deck of cards to each group and one student shuffles and deals the deck
- After students janken to see who goes first, the first student asks the student to the left, "How many aces do you have?" If that student has aces, (s)he slides them into the center of the circle facedown and says, "I have X aces." If the student has no aces, they must bluff. They put an X number of cards into the middle and says, "I have X aces." If another student doesn't believe them, they can challenge by saying, "I doubt it." Then, the cards are turned over. If a student is caught bluffing, they must take the cards back into their hand, but if they are telling the truth, the challenger receives the cards.
- Play continues to the left.
- The first student to get rid of all their cards is the winner.
Variations:
- In later rounds, when a challenge is made, the loser must pick up all the cards in discard pile.
Teaching Suggestions:
- The game starts at 'ace' and continues numerically upward with each student's turn. For example, if a student asks, "How many twos do you have?" then the next person would ask about 'threes'. This rule is to ensure there are many of people bluffing.
