Brief Outline: A put-it-together game to practice speaking, listening and reading of New Horizon's A Mother's Lullaby.

Materials Needed:

  • LullabyRace handout: The attachment has the complete story split into sentences.  Print, cut, laminate and put the story into an envelope.  Each group receives one copy of the story.

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Review the story with the class.
  2. Divide the class into 6 teams.
  3. Tell the students to put everything into their desks, and then hand out an envelope to each group.  The groups empty the contents of the envelope out onto their desks and they race to put to story back together.
  4. Each team can use one textbook.
  5. The first team to put it together wins.

Variations:

  • For higher level classes, don't let the students use the textbook.
