Brief Outline: Student race around the classroom to find words that make up the sentence.
Materials Needed:
- Various sentences (not included) - separate each word of the sentences and place them in random locations around the classroom
Detailed Explanation:
After spliting the class into groups of 5-6, tell them to assign a runner or let them rotate.
One student from each group goes to the ALT/JTE, receives a sentence, and then go back and says it to their group.
Then, one member of the team, 'the runner', must find all the words from around the room and bring them back for the group to assemble into the sentence.
The first group to complete all their sentences is the winner
Variations:
- Depending on the grade and the ability level, you can make the sentence as long as you want or as short as you want.
Tips/Cautions:
- Remind the that only one person from each group should be running at one time.
