Prep with Waldo

GRAMMAR: Preposition     EXAMPLE: Is there a bear in front of the house?     DATE ADDED: 01-26-10

05-15 min.

Brief Outline: This is a simple listen/verify activity to practice prepositions. It can also be used as a reading activity.

Materials Needed:

  • PrepWithWaldo worksheets .  There are two worksheets to choose from -- one is strictly listening, while the other is a reading activity or could be read as a class and the questions answered one at a time.

Detailed Explanation:

  1. After handing out a worksheet to each student and a Waldo picture (only one picture needs to be handed out to a group of students.), have the students read each question, look at the Waldo picture and circle the Yes/No answer.
  2. This should take about 5-10 minutes to complete.
  3. Once finished, correct the worksheet as a class.

Tips/Cautions:

  • When you photocopy the picture page, all the copies should be done at once for all of the lessons. If you make a copy of a copy, the pictures starts to become blurry.
  • Waldo's name in Japanese is "Wally".
