Brief Outline: This is a review game for New Horizon 2's textbook. Students are given questions and they must find the answers in their textbooks.

Materials Needed:

Detailed Explanation:

  1. After dividing the students into teams, ask them to take out their New Horizon textbooks.
  2. Number the students in the teams, for example, Team 1 will have Student 1, Student 2 etc.
  3. For the first question, Student 1 from each team is responsible to give the ALT/JTE the answer. The first student to give an answer wins a point for his/her team.

Variations:

  • Make the students go to one of the teachers give their answers instead of saying it from their groups.
  • After awhile reverse. Get the students to ask you questions from the textbook. If you can answer, they get point. If they stump you, they can get two points.

#4 Who finished writing the new Poem? Franz did. Pg. 60
Actually Joseph finished writing it. If you read it carefully, Franz asked "what shall we do" and Joseph answered "I just finished writing the new poem".
    #6 Where was Mike?
He was at the train Station. Pg. 5
The picture shows a train station, but Mike says "I was at the library". Also, some kids flipped to the "what's wrong" page and said "at the hospital".
There is one vague question with two answers (unless you give them the page numbers which seems too easy to me, it's like SNL's Jeopardy 'just say the word blue for 10 points')
    #9 Where is Emi going?
To Shin’s to play videogames. Pg. 48-49
Near the front of the book she is also going to Easter Island. I said there are two answers since the kids found both.
Overall it was good, but I would have put #3 toward the end since it was a little tougher. #11 was good since there is a big YES right after the question in the book so the kids see it and say "yes he did" when in fact he did not make his bed. For #12 kids were saying Monster Hunter, Monster Egg, Egg Hunter...
