Brief Outline: This activity is based upon the Ramone's song, Have you ever seen the rain?

Materials Needed:

  • SeenTheRain worksheet: One for each student.
  • A copy of The Ramones, Have you ever seen the Rain song (not included).
  • Yes/No cards - you will need to make enough cards for each student to have 2-3 yes/no cards.

Detailed Explanation:

  1. After get the students to listen to the song, have them fill-in-the-blanks on their worksheets.
  2. Then, after translating the weather words on their worksheets, get them to write five 'Have you ever...' sentences of their own.
  3. Finally, have the students ask other students ask each others their questions.  If a student answers with "Yes, I have," they receive a 'yes' card, and vise-versa.
  4. If a student asks you one of their questions, sign their worksheet.

Variations:

  • The Ramones version is a little fast. You might consider the Credence Clearwater Revival version.
