Brief Outline: Student receive character cards and must work together in the group to answer all the questions on their worksheets.
Materials Needed:
- SixCorners worksheets: There are two worksheets. The first worksheet creates two worksheets when cut in half. Each student needs a worksheet. The second worksheet is the character cards Each group needs a set of cards. Both worksheets need some information typed in to match the places in your local area. It's important to note on the character cards, two characters should have the same places.
Detailed Explanation:
Split the class into groups of six students and hand out the worksheets and character cards. It's important the students don't show the group their cards because it defeats the whole entire speaking practice.
It doesn't matter who begins asking questions but students take turns asking someone in their group a question and the student must answer the question based upon the information on the character card, and then everyone in the group writes the answers on their worksheets. For example, "Do you get up before 7 a.m.?"
Make sure you two characters have the same 'place' information so the students have to get the information from a couple different students.
Variations: - Instead of having the students doing a one-on-one question/answer, allow the students to ask the entire group and the people who have the appropriate answers must response.
