Brief Outline: Students run around the classroom playing janken and discover where their classmates are from.
Materials Needed
- SupriseOrigin worksheet
- Country cards - one for each student (located in the attachment below)
Detailed Explanation:
Each student must have a worksheet and a country card.
I typically play this type of worksheet with janken. The winner is allowed to ask the other student the question and is able to check them off the worksheet once finished.
The first person to find out where everyone is from is the winner.
Variations: - You need not play it with janken both students could ask and answer and it would move much quicker. It doesn't have to be a race, although I find students are more interested in finishing if it is.
Cautions:
- If it is a race insure the students are saying the full dialogue and not simply the country names. Also, there are a few students who tend to hang around others and get answers without using the dialogue at all. If I see this I tell them they are immediately disqualified.
