Brief Outline: Talking about table manners and looking at cultural differences.

 

Materials Needed:

 

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Ask the students to match the picture with the table manner.
  2. Ask the students to decide which statement is true or false.
  3. Check the answers with the students.

 

Teaching Suggestions:

  • Act out the different table manners.
  • Ask the students to make a skit using the manners

 

Tips/Cautions:

  • I used this as an accompaniment to the NH Book 3 - Reading for Communication (p 42).
  • This could be used to start a discussion about the differences in table manners between cultures.
