Brief Outline: Students write about Japan and have a speaking test.

Materials Needed:

Detailed Explanation:

  1. For the first page of the worksheet, students match cutural items with their correct explanation sentences.
  2. For the second page, students write sentences explaining the various Japanese items.
  3. For the third page, students choose an item from the page and write three sentences about it.
  4. The fourth page is to be used for the speaking test. Each student will have a speaking test with the ALT. The student will talk about the item they chose to write about and will also describe three other items which are chosen randomly by the ALT.

Teaching Suggestions:

  • Give the students time to memorise the description and assist with pronunciation and intonation.
  • I used Scotland in the worksheets, but feel free to write about your own culture.
  • Make sure you change all the "Andy" references on the worksheets to make it specific to you.
