Brief Outline: Students take turn reading the card in their hand and trying to match it to the same card held by one other student in the classroom.

Materials Needed:

  • Cards: One for every student (not included)
    • If you are doing a story from the textbook, type out the story and make each sentence into a card.
    • If you are doing who, what, when, where, why, how, you will need matching question and answer cards.

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Review the dialogue or grammar point.
  2. Hand out all the cards.
  3. Get the students to stand up.
  4. Choose one student to read his or her card. He or she then asks another student to read their card. If their cards match then they get to sit down.  If they don't, then the student who was asks, then asks another student.  This game is similar to the old kid's game, Concentration.
