Brief Outline: Students use the relative pronoun 'who' to give hints to their partners. Their partners then try to guess who the famous person is.
Materials Needed:
- WhoIsFamous worksheets - there are 2 worksheets: A & B
Detailed Explanation:
Students form pairs and move their desks together.
In each pair, one student should have quiz A, and one student should have quiz B. The quizzes are secret. I find it best to have the students place their quizzes inside their textbooks.
Have the students play Janken. The winners read all their hints. For example, "He is a man," "He fights Koopa." Finally, they put the two sentences together to form a relative pronoun sentence: "He is a man who fights Koopa."
Their partner must try and guess who the person is. If they are correct, they receive a point.
Once finished, the student with the most points is the winner. If they both have the same number of points, they are both winners!
Variations:
- I wrote in most of the hints for my students. Feel free to delete the hints and have your students come up with their own hints.
Teaching Suggestions:
I have the students grade their partners: a circle for a correct answer and an X for an incorrect answer.
