Brief Outline: Groups complete in this Jeopardy-style game to answer various questions, depending on their grade level.

Materials Needed:

  • BizzQuiz worksheets:
    • Grade 1 topics: Days of the week, subjects, word scramble, mixed and textbook.
    • topics: Sports, famous people, geography, capitals, textbook, word scramble and signs.
    • Grade 3 topics: Sports, animals, famous people, geography 1, geography 2, capitals, word scramble, textbook, mixed and signs.

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Write the topics on the chalkboard like Jeopardy.  Under the topics write 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50, where 50 is the toughest.
  2. Have the class form groups and have one person from every team stand up.  Have the standing students janken and winner chooses a topic and number.  Read the question and the first student to raise their hand and answer correctly receives the points.

Variations:

  • You can adapt these questions to other games your students are more familar playing.

Cautions:

  • If the question appears to be to difficult, give the students hints.
