Brief Outline: Students listen to the song
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and perform a skit based on it.
Materials Needed:
- RudolphSkit&Cloze attachment - the attachment includes: 1.) song lyrics, 2.) scripts, and 3.) character sheet sign-up
- The song (not included)
- CD player/computer/ipod
Detailed Explanation:
- Introduce the story of Rudolph, you can use the Rudolph Q&A activity.
- Students listen to the song and fill in the Cloze. Then, go over the answers to the Cloze.
- Pass out the scripts. Read it as a whole class, explaining the actions.
- Divide students into groups of ten. Students choose their characters and write their names on the sign-up sheets.
- Students practice in their groups.
- Students perform for the class! This can take one or two days as you wish.
Teaching Suggestions:
- You can adjust the number of reindeer lines to fit the number of students in each group - add or subtract a speaking line here and there. If you need another character, add Blizten and give him a speaking line.
- If you have colored paper, glue, and tape, students can make reindeer noses and Santa hats.
- This activity is appropriate for junior and senior high.
