February 27, 2011 marked the third year Englipedia has been online!
Englipedia was created with one simple idea in mind, to create a resource for us all to use that would transcend prefectural boundaries and allow us to use each others' teaching ideas, regardless of who we work for or what textbook we use.
Englipedia was created by one ALT who decided one person can make a difference. I have spent over three years working to accomplish this goal. This website is not financed by any organization or company. Also, I have refused to sell advertisments on the site because I hate ads! I wanted to build a website I would like to surf myself and ads weren't part of that equation. However, this has not come without a price.
The cost of this site has recently spiked and I need some help from you. Up to this point, I have been paying for this site out of my own pocket and have donated quite literally 1,000s of hours of my free time turning a website that started with four simple pages into the most popular teaching resource for English teachers in Japan.
The site's motto is, "sharing a little, gaining a lot." This site will always stand by that motto. If Englipedia has been useful to you, in or outside your work life, why not show your support?
