Procedure:
- The class brainstorms as many Christmas and winter words as possible.
- The Alt/HRT writes these ideas on the board, no katakana.
- Each student is given some construction paper, origami paper/wrapping paper and markers/coloured pencils.
- They create their own Christmas cards using various Christmas words that were written on the chalkboard.
Variations: For older students, teach them to address the card to someone and write their names in English. From the 4th grade, students learn how to write their name in romaji. All stationary objects are placed on the front desk. Students are only allowed to have one item of stationary at a time. When a student wants a new item of stationary, they must go to the front desk and ask for it, for example, “pencil please,” “here you are,” “thank you.” After the dialogue is established, distribute additional stationary amongst students. Then they can ask each other, in English for the things they need.

Christmas Card Creating 
概要: この作業で英語のクリスマスカードの作り方を学びます。
手順:生徒はできるだけたくさんのクリスマスと冬にまつわる言葉や単語を考える。
2. ALT・HRTは黒板にそれらの言葉や単語を英語で書く。（カタカナはだめです。）
3. 生徒たちにはひとりひとりに、何枚かの色画用紙や折り紙、包装紙など、またマーカーや色鉛筆などを渡しておく。
4. 黒板に書かかれた様々なクリスマスに関する言葉を使って、自分達のクリスマスカードを作る。
変形:
高学年の生徒には、クリスマスカードを誰かに送れるよう、送り先の住所と自分の名前 の英語での書き方を教える。小学生の４年生から、大概の生徒はローマ字で自分の名前が書けるよう学んでいる。
はさみや鉛筆や紙などを先生の机にすべて置いておく。生徒は一回に一つの品物だけ持っていくことが許される。もし生徒が別の物を欲しい時は、先生の机のところへ行き、お願いしなければならない。例えば、“pencil please,” （鉛筆をお願いします）とか “here you are,” （はい、どうぞ）とか“thank you.” （ありがとう）という会話をしなければならない。会話が定着したら、生徒達に、更に文房具を配り、生徒同士が、自分たちの必要なものをお互いに英語で頼むことが出来るようにする。
