Coin Toss

Outline: Students throw a coin onto an alphabet card then say the letter.
 
Procedure:
  1. Depending on size of class, make groups of 4-6 students.
  2. Each team receives one complete set of uppercase alphabet cards and places the cards facedown on a desk.
  3. After the students play Janken to decide which student will play first, that student tosses a coin onto the facedown cards.Where the coin stops, the student turns over the card. If they can name the letter, they get to keep the card.  The student with the most cards win.


Variations:

  • Play a play-off-game with the winner of each group.  If all students seem equal in ability, tell them they can only receive a point if they say the letter then write the upper/lowercase letter on the chalkboard.

概要: 生徒はアルファベットの書いてあるカードにコインを投げ、コインが当たった文字を言います。
 
手順:
  1. クラスの人数により、４～6人のグループに分ける。
  2. 各チームは、大文字のアルファベット26文字1セットのカードを受け取ったら、机の上にカードを伏せておく。
  3. 誰が最初にゲームをするか、じゃんけんをして決めたら、最初の生徒は裏返しにして置かれているカードにコインを投げる。コインが落ちたところで、そのカードをめくり、表を出す。その文字を言えたらそのカードは自分のものになる。一番たくさんカードを取った生徒が勝ちになる。

変形:

  • 各チームの勝者で決勝ゲームをさせましょう。もし全員が同程度の力であったら、文字を言えて、その大文字または小文字を黒板に書けて始めて点数になると生徒に言います。
