Animal Coloring

Outline: Children color animals according to the ALT's instructions.

 

Procedure:

  1. Give the children the worksheet, and have them ready their colored pencils. All the children should have their own pencils in their desks so you do not need to provide them.
  2. While using the handout as a visual aid, explain to the kids the animals around your house, "This is my ~. My cat is blue." Then, have the kids color the cat blue.
  3. Continue for all of the animals, making sure to stop for kids who fall behind or do not catch on right away.

 

Variations:

  • If the children seem comfortable with colors and animals try explaining locations of the animals using prepositions -- on, in front of, inside, next to, under and hugging.  For example, "There's a gray koala hugging the tree.

概要:  ALTの指示によって生徒が動物を塗ります。  
 
手順:

  1. 生徒にワークシートを渡す前に、生徒に自分の色鉛筆を準備してもらう。生徒は色鉛筆を持っているはずだから先生は準備しなくてもいい。
  2. 視覚補助にはワークシートを使い、家の周辺のまわりにいる動物について生徒に説明する。 例えば、“This is my ～ My cat is blue.”　それで、生徒は猫を青に塗る作業をする。
  3. 全部動物を塗るまで続ける。追いつかない生徒や、直ちに聞き取れない生徒のためにゆっくり続ける。

変形:

  • 生徒が色と動物の単語を覚えるのが簡単そうであれば、前置詞も一緒に使って動物の場所を表してみます。前置詞は　on ；上に、 in front of ;前に、 inside；中に、 next to； となりに、 under；下に、 hugging；抱きついて、 などを使う。 例えば、 “There’s a gray koala hugging the tree.”　木に抱きついている灰色のコアラがいます。
