Finding Nemo
Outline: Students ask a series of, "Do you like ~ ?" questions in hopes to discover their partner’s character card.

Procedure:
- Each student is given a worksheet and a name card of a character. The identity of the character is kept secret from the other students. Explain this BEFORE you give out the cards.
- Students make pairs and play Janken. The winner asks questions, "Do you like ~ ?"
- Their partner answers "Yes/No, I do/don't," based upon if the 'liked-thing' is on their partner's character card.
- When the student thinks they know their partner's character they ask, "Are you ~ ?" To stop the students from random guessing, allow only one guess per turn, a certain number of guesses per game. If they go over that number, they automatically lose.
- If they guess correctly, their partner writes the winner's name next to their character, choose a different character and play again.
- If they student guesses incorrectly, the game continues.
Variations:
Instead of the students receiving a worksheet with 8 characters on it, have a stack of character cards on the teacher's desk with a huge poster with an entire listing of all the possible characters within the stack. When a student's character card is guessed, they come and choose another card from the top of the stack.
Attachments: NEEDS WORKSHEET! the worksheet needs 8 characters with a sport and fruit. use pictures instead of English words, but subscript the pics with the English equiv. BUT NOT KATAKANA. This uses the "whole language" method of learning.
