Freeze Tag

Outline: Students play a variation of tag where a freeze option is used to practice polite language.

 

Teaching Suggestions:

  • One oni for every 6-7 students is suggested.
  • The game is good for about 15 minutes.
  • Change the oni every 4-5 minutes for variety.
  • It may help to explain ALT/HRT has the power to freeze anyone who fails to say the target vocabulary loudly.

 

Procedure:
  1. One student is the oni, it.  When the oni tags a player, they yell, "You’re ice!"  The tagged player must freeze and say, "Please help me!"
  2. Another player can release the frozen student by touching them, but only after the frozen student says, "Thank you,” and the helper says, "You’re welcome!"

概要: 鬼ごっこの変形で、止まって動かない(フリーズ)という動作も取り入れながら、丁寧な言葉を練習します。

 

推薦を教えること:

  • 生徒6人から7人くらいに鬼を一人決めます。
  • ゲームは１５分くらいにしたほうがよいでしょう。
  • ４、５分毎に鬼を交代します。
  • 目標となる言葉を大きな声で言えなかった生徒に、そこで動かない（フリーズする）ように命令できるのはＡＬＴ／ＨＲＴだと、説明したほうがいいかもしれません。

手順:

  1. 生徒が一人鬼になる。鬼が生徒に触ったら "You’re ice!"と叫ぶ。触られた生徒は凍って動けなくなり、"Please help me!"　という。
  2. 他の生徒が凍った生徒に触って、その生徒が"Thank you,” と言い、助けた生徒が "You’re welcome!"と言うと、凍った生徒は動けるようになる。
