Like Interviews

Outline: Students wander around the classroom asking each other "Do you like ~" questions, while filling out a worksheet.
 
Procedure:
  1. Before passing out the interview sheet, check to ensure the students know the names of all the pictures on the interview worksheet.
  2. Students wander around the classroom finding various partners and asking each other one question, for example, "Do you like dogs?"  They listen to the response, "Yes/No, I do/don't," then they write their partner’s name in the corresponding box and circle the "yes/no" area accordingly.  , in Japanese is okay, in the corresponding box and circle along with ‘Yes/No’ according to her answer.
  3. Then, they must find a new partner.  The goal is to complete the worksheet.

 

Variations:

  • To bridge the gap between gender, if a boy and girl partner up, they can ask each other two questions.
  • For 4th graders and higher, have them write each other's names in romaji.  Students start learning romaji starting in the 4th grade.
