Brief Outline: This is a set of four games being played at the same time with all students participating at the same time while practicing the four parts of learning.

Detailed Explanation:

1.  This game is a little complicated to organize but if done successfully, it can be used for many different topics and it seems to be extremely exciting and educational for the students. The idea is simple; four games are played simultaneously, each focusing on a different method of learning.
2. Split the class into four-person teams. Then, send each member of the team to a different game. 
3. Game #1: Sticky Kyuban (listening/reading practice)
   • Kyuban mean 'suction cup.'  You can buy these balls at the 100 yen shop. Section off the chalkboard into the number of teams created. Within each section, draw the target numbers the students are studying. 
   • When you say a target number, the students have 5-10 seconds to spot the number and toss their suction cup ball at the number in hopes that it sticks to the correct number.
   • If it sticks, their team receives a point.
4. Game #2: Speak Maniac (listening/speaking practice)
   • Students form a line. When you say a target number, students take turns whispering that number in Japanese into the HRT's ear.
   • The team is awarded a point if they say the number correctly AND quietly.
5. Game #3: Karuta (listening/reading practice)
   • Students stand around a desk with their backs to it. Target number cards are spread out on the desk. When you say a number, the students turn around and slap the correct number.
   • Sometimes students become a little too excited and start a random slapping spree.  If this happens, create a rule where the student only has one slap.
   • The fastest team to slap the number receives a point.
6. Game #4: Kaku Renshu (listening/writing practice)
   • Kaku Renshu means 'writing practice.'  For this game, each team needs scratch paper and a pencil. When you say a number, the students simply write the number, paying attention to stroke order.
   • If they write the correct number, their team receives a point.
7. As you can imagine, this game isn't for the faint hearted, but it works extremely well to keep every student engaged with no downtime.

Variations:

• Instead of using simple numbers, give the students a math problem. While the students have to figure out the problem then find the correct number, the 'Kaku Renshu' students must write the entire math problem, then write the answer.
• For the Game #1, you can find all types of suction cup toys at the 100 yen shop if you look hard enough.
• For the Game #4, see how many times the students can write the number in the given time frame you set for each round.

Teaching Suggestions:

• It is extremely important to stress that when children are moving from game to game, they are to move quickly and quietly.

   • 数字を正しく、しかも静かに言ったら、点をもらう。
5. ゲーム＃3：カルタ（聴解・読解練習）
   • 生徒達は机の周りに後ろ向きに立つ。数字のかーどはつくえのうえにばらばらにおいておく。ALTが数字を言ったら、生徒達は振り向いて正しい数字を叩く。たたく回数は一回だけだ。
   • たたくのが一番早かったチームが1点をもらう。さらに、詳しい説明についてはここをクリックする。
6. ゲーム＃４：書く練習（聴解・文章練習）
   • このゲームでは、それぞれのチームがメモと鉛筆を使う。ALTが数字を言ったら、生徒達は書き順に注意しながら数字を書く。正しい数字を書いたら、1点をもらう。
7. このゲームは気が弱い人向きではないが、一人ひとりの生徒に気を抜く時間を持たせないことに非常に役立つ。

バリエーション：

• ゲームの前に次の点を集中したほうがいい：し終わった活動から次の活動まで速やかに静かに動かなければならない。もしこのルールを守らないと、クラスのコントロールが難しくなります。
