Dance the Intro Away

Outline: When the music stops, students stop dancing and greet each other using self-introduction phrases.
 
Teaching Suggestions:
  • Choose your music wisely!  Your music selection can make or break the game.  Choose music that either has a strong consistent pounding beat, or teach them an easy English song ahead of time, like the Beatles Hello Goodbye, and homemade choreography to supplement the song.  This should solve the problem of your shy students not wanting to dance.
 
Procedure:
  1. Once the target vocab is learned, play the music and dance with the students. 
  2. When the music stops, students form pairs and practice saying their self-introductions.

 

Variations:

  • Use a timer to encourage students to finish within a certain time, but stress clear pronunciation.  Challenge the students by keep reducing the time.

概要: 音楽が止まった時に、生徒は踊りを止めて相手に自己紹介の表現方法を使って、挨拶をします。                                     
 
推薦を教えること:
  • 音楽がこのゲームの成功の鍵を握りますので、ゲームにあった音楽を選択しましょう。生徒が知っている簡単な英語の歌、あるいは強いビートを刻む歌を選びます。例えば、ビートルズの "Hello Goodbye." （ハロー・グッバイ）など。また、歌に合ったダンスの振り付けを適当に作って追加します。誰にでもできる振り付けなら、恥ずかしがり屋で踊りたがらない生徒の問題も解決できるはずです。

手順:

  1. 生徒が単語を習得したら、音楽を再生し一緒に踊る。
    2. 音楽が止まった時に、生徒はペアになって自己紹介をする。

変形:

  • タイマーを使って生徒が限られた時間までに、自己紹介をし終わるようにします。ただし、生徒は英語をはっきり発音することを強調します。　自己紹介の時間をどんどん少なくしていけば、生徒にはいいチャレンジとなるでしょう。
