Slash
Submitted byElem ALT team

Outline: Students cross off letters on their alphabet worksheet based upon the roll of the dice.

Teaching Suggestions:
  • You might find it hard to find alphabet dice in Japan.  You can either make homemade alphabet dice or buy cheap playing cards from the 100 yen shop and write letters on them.

Procedure:
  1. After each student receives an alphabet worksheet, split them into pairs or small groups.
  2. Students take turns rolling a die (or flipping the cards) and crossing off the letter rolled/flipped.
  3. The first student to slash all the letters on their worksheet wins.

Variations:

  • If you are using playing cards, insert some 'wild' cards into the game.  The wild cards allow the student to cross off any letter.
