Brief Outline: Children predict next week's weather by completing a weather forecast worksheet.

Materials Needed:

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Give each students a 'Weather Forecast' worksheet.
  2. Tell students that they will become weather forecasters for the next week.
  3. In the weather column, each student draws a picture of what they believe the weather will be for each day of the following week. For more advanced classes, have them write the weather in English — it's sunny, it's rainy, etc.
  4. Students then try to predict what the temperature will be for each day by filling in the thermometer under the temperature column.
  5. Students keep their completed weather forecast sheet. On each day of the week, the students check and see if their predictions are correct.

  • (Feb 19, 2011) amara said: Other than your suggestion for advanced classes, does this involve any use of English? Maybe I'm missing something.
  • (Nov 29, 2010) al said: I`d change the shape of the temperature scale...
