Animal Noises / 動物の中声:
Introduce animals with gestures and noises. Let the kids guess the animal. If you have not found out already, Japanese animal noises sound completely different than what you are used to hearing, such as frogs say, "kero kero," dogs say, "wan wan" and cows say, "mo mo."
ジェスジャと鳴き声で動物のことを紹介します。動物の名前を言わず、子供に推測してもらいます。英語での鳴き声は日本語でのと全然違います。例えば犬は「ワンワン」、カエルは「ケロケロ」、牛は「モモ」と言います。
Your Country's Animals / 自分の国の旗:
While you should mostly use generic animals, think about using a couple of animals specific to your country. For example, an Australian might use koalas, kangaroos or penguins, while an American from the Northwest might use wolves or moose. Word of caution, if the animal is translated into Japanese in katakana, prior to class, explain the animal to the HRT to avoid embarassing classroom situations where you are telling the teacher, "A moose is like the result of a caribbou having sex with a horse."
一般の動物はいいけど自分の国の特定の動物はもっといいです。例えばオーストらリラならコアラやカンガルーや野犬などはいいで、アメリカの北西ならオオカミやヘラジカなどはいいです。注意、授業前動物の名前をカタカナの発音にすることの場合は担任に連絡するほうがいいです。分からなければ授業中のミスをしちゃって恥ずかしいし生徒達が混乱することもあります。
