FORUM RULES
The rules are pretty straightforward and common sense prevails. In most cases you will need to register and become a board member before being able to post messages. This is our most basic method of preventing board abuse. This is a free and open board, so criticism of other members' posts is of course allowed, but the staff of Englipedia reserves the right to delete messages (posts) and/or remove user accounts without prior notice in the case of, but not limited to, the following:
The word "FUCK" and most every derivative thereof has been changed to the word "MEXT". All other foul language has not been edited. We only ask you keep in mind how often you take advantage of this uncensored freedom.
Messages of an offensive nature, whether overtly sexual or racist will be dealt with appropriately.
Messages including obscene or pornographic material, or links to other sites that contain or promote obscene or pornographic material will result in a ban.
Messages including information that may invade the personal privacy of any other person will result in a ban.
Troll messages simply attacking or criticizing another member without any attempt to discuss or justify those views will result in a warning. After that, please don't make us explain what happens after that...
Overtly commercial messages, particularly when not related to Englipedia without the express permission will result in a permanent ban.
Messages promoting pyramid or referral schemes or other money-making schemes will result in a permanent ban.
Messages purporting to be by someone other than the actual poster will result in having your account frozen until we can get to the bottom of it.
Messages whose contents are against or which violate Japanese law or common law will result in a ban.
Healthy discourse obviously is going to sometimes bring about more serious emotive posts. Please keep in mind, attacking someone's opinions are okay, but personally insulting someone will not be tolerated. In other words, ad hominem attacks are a big no-no. If it happens, you'll receive a warning. After that, please don't make us explain what happens after that...
Do not start a flame war on our forums. If you have a problem with a member of our forums, either take it to private messages or contact one of the staff of Englipedia forum.
Do not single out a member of these forums by naming them in your signature as a means to instigate trouble. Also, do not use your signature to make disparaging remarks about whole groups of people, be their race, orientation, occupation, or social affiliations. If done, you'll receive a warning. After that, please don't make us explain what happens after that...
Do not post or divulge another member’s personal information without their written consent. This will be strictly enforced and may potentially lead to a permanent ban.
Post your topic in the most appropriate category. Before you post a thread, try to find the most appropriate category. If you violate this, it will result in...well, nothing. We will simply move your topic to the correct forum.
When copying or pasting news stories or copyrighted material, post a link at the top of the quoted material to the location of where the information was originally taken from.
Other than that, please avoid posting personal information. This is for your own good, as Englipedia cannot be held responsible if such information is abused by third parties. In particular, please don't post your e-mail address as it is almost certainly guaranteed to be picked up and abused by spammers.
If you wish to be contacted, make use of our Private Message function or people can click the E-mail button on your posts to send your mail.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact 'TheModMan' or 'Otaku' on the forum. BTW, TheModMan is the nicer of the two; Otaku doesn't play well with others.
