Brief Outline: Students watch the film of the ‘Wrong Trousers’ with Wallace and Gromit and respond to some questions.

Materials Needed:

  • Copy of the film Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers (not included)
  • TheWrongTrousers worksheet: One per student

Detailed Explanation:

  1. Read through the handout together to give students a background to the film.
  2. Watch the film, pausing at points that are relevant to the questions and give students time to write down their responses.
  3. Go through the responses together then give students time to write their opinion of the film.

Variations:

  • Play the film through once without giving out the sheet, then again with the worksheet. This would take 1.5 lessons.

Tips/Cautions:

  • Students begin to freak out a bit when they don’t understand the English. I would love to get my hands on a English bleeped out version of this episode as the dialogue (or monologue really as it is only Wallace that ever speaks) is not important to get what is actually going on.
