- Back to School Mr. Bean DVD - you can rent the DVD from your local video store; it’s on disk 3.
Detailed Explanation:
Before:
Talk about who Mr. Bean is, the style of his films - laugh track, no words, from England, etc.
Use flash cards to explain.
During:
Stop the video at appropriate stop place to talk about what just happened. As specific students questions like ‘What did Mr. Bean do’ etc
Procedures in playing the video:
Play from start to calligraphy scene
Pause to point out car and car lock, army men
Start 16.09 (put on subtitles) or view two times
What is bow?
Play 21.28 to end
Was Mr. Bean sad at the end of the film?
Students work in groups to put the verbs in the right place and mixed up sentences in order according to films events.
Get students to fill out the follow up side of the worksheet
Discuss as a class the answers to the sheet

- This lesson takes a bit of viewing preparation. I used my computer hooked up to a projector which was easier to navigate than a DVD player.
