I Am Cards

Brief Outline: Students aim to practice the parts of a self-introduction so that they understand it is as separate entities. Materials Needed:
- IAmCards worksheet, one for each pair.
- Deck of cards (1-2 decks, depending on class size)

CARD GAME
Students make pairs. Each pair gets a suit from a deck of cards and lays them out on the desk in front of them.
Give a rule sheet to each pair.
Ace - あなたの名前は何ですか。 (What’s your name?)
King - 何歳ですか。 (How old are you?)
Queen - 好きな物は何ですか。 (What do you like?)
Jack - 好きな物は何ですか。 理由を教えてください。(What do you like and why?)
Ten - 嫌いな物は何ですか。 (What don’t you like?)
Nine - 嫌いな物は何ですか。 理由を教えてください。 (What don’t you like and why?)
Eight - することは何ですか。 (What do you like doing?)
Seven - 好きな物は何ですか。 理由を教えてください。 (What do you like and why?)
Six - 嫌いな物は何ですか。 理由を教えてください。 (What don’t you like and why?)
Five - あなたの名前は何ですか。 (What’s your name?)
Four - 何歳ですか。 (How old are you?)
Three - することは何ですか?理由を教えてください。 (What do you like doing and why?)
Two - することは何ですか?理由を教えてください。(What don’t you like doing and why?)
Students play Janken to decide who will turn over a card. The loser has to turn over a card and say the appropriate sentence.
If a student loses 3 times in a row, they have to do a batsu (punishment) game.
After a card is turned over, they put it to the side.
Continue until all the cards are turned over. Shuffle and repeat one more time.
